Ask one question. Read one hexagram.
I Ching (Book of Changes) · James Legge translation (1899) · 64 hexagrams
ZouWu is a quiet reading room built on the I Ching, the ancient Chinese Book of Changes. Write down the one thing you truly want to ask. Cast a hexagram — three coins, six tosses, or the old dayi method of fifty yarrow stalks. Then read: the Judgment, the Image, the six Lines, and a counsel written for reflection, never for prediction.
The old rule stands: the first asking is answered; to ask again and again is presumption. One question, one hexagram.
The reading room itself opens in Chinese; the hexagram library below the button is fully in English.
What you will find
- The sixty-four hexagrams — each with the full classical text in James Legge's public-domain 1899 translation: the Judgment, the Great Image, and the six Lines, checked line by line against the source.
- A reflective counsel — an original, plain-voice reading for each hexagram, written to help you see the road you are already on. It offers perspective; it does not promise outcomes.
- Six free readings to begin — no account, nothing to install. Your question and your reading journal stay in your own browser.
Honest by design
- ZouWu is for entertainment and self-reflection only. It does not predict the future and does not replace medical, financial, legal, or other professional advice.
- Your question never leaves your browser. The server receives only an anonymous device identifier and the hexagram number, used to count the free readings.
- Questions about your readings or your purchase: hello@zouwu.net — we reply within 3 business days.
